Julianne Moore Got Robbed Of Jewelry That Are Worth $127,000

Dogs are man’s bestfriend and diamonds are apparently woman’s. Emmy award-winning actress Julianne Moore just lost hers.
The actress has more than $127,000 worth of jewelry stolen from her New York City apartment, according to reports of police officials. The jewelry was robbed from Moore’s Manhattan brownstone between the dates June 6 and August 28, at the exact date when her residential home was renovated, as officials reported last Wednesday. 15 to 25 construction workers had total access of the house’s divisions during its reconstruction although reports didn’t mention of an arrest. In addition, Contractors have been in the process of remodeling the home while the “Boogie Nights” actress, aged 51, and her husband director Bart Freundlich, were out of town to Toronto to shoot the remake of the horror film Carrie.
Seven of the 10 pieces of stolen jewelry were from Cartier, including the most expensive item of all, a $33,000 Cartier platinum diamond tennis bracelet. Four Cartier watches valued at a combined $77,800 were also taken.
Moore’s assistant reported the missing jewelry to the police last October 1. According to The New York Times, New York City’s Buildings Department listed three permits (which was filed in July) for the interior renovation and plumbing work of Moore’s house. The brownstone has been in the market twice in the past few years and the 6-bedroom home was recently priced at $12.5 million.
Moore’s neighbors were saddened by the fact that the good actress was indeed robbed. Bob Gibson, a long-time neighbor of Julianne Moore, said:
“It’s sad to hear something like this happened to one of your neighbors. She’s a very good neighbor. That’s how I see her.”
Though Moore recently won an Emmy award for her portrayal of Sarah Palin in the HBO movie “Game Change”, this incident obviously is not the thing that the actress is expecting lately.
