Besides Angelina Jolie playing the main role (see image below), members of the Jolie-Pitt household are also making their debuts on lesser character roles. Vivienne, aged 4, takes on the role of the very much younger Princess Aurora, and Pax, aged 8, and Zahara, aged 7, serves as walk-on players in the christening scene of the young princess when the curse was placed upon her. Other casts of the movie are rounded up by Miranda Richardson, Juno Temple, Imelda Staunton, Sam Riley, and Elle Fanning as the mature Princess Aurora. The filming of the movie scenes began in June. Maleficent is also a directing debut for Robert Stromberg who take on the role as visual effects and production designer in his earlier projects.
