‘Cloud Atlas’ Falls Back As Ben Affleck’s ‘Argo’ Reached Number One This Week

Also beating the sci-fi adaptation is Sony’s Hotel Transylvania, which made $9.5 million since its debut five weeks earlier. The movie is a record-breaking for Sony Pictures Animation in all its recent animation movies: this is because Hotel Transylvania garnered a total of $130.4 million since its debut. Talking about an animated money maker!
Although its quiet success is imminent, Cloud Atlas which is distributed by Warner Bros., has received mixed reviews that makes it a movie critic from different perspectives. Directors Andy and Lana Wachowski and Tom Tywker pull everything through as they oversaw the movie adaptation from David Mitchell’s top-selling book although Mitchell himself reportedly doubt that the book will be given a screenplay because of its broad fantasy aspects. Nonetheless, THR is reporting that Warner Bros. president was sly to make a point that eventhough Cloud Atlas isn’t gaining that faster since its debut it is still gets the highest per screen average than any of the top ten movies, at $4,681.
