The mixture of Taylor Swift’s impressive song-writing skills — and not to mention the long list of exes, is what made her atop the music charts and defines her musical style as a pop-country crooner, but it doesn’t mean that the singer is looking forward to talk anything about these guys in her songs sometime soon.
Swift was likely outrageous as she told the November issue of Glamour, “How presumptuous! I never disclose who my songs are about.” This was i n fact a response to John Meyer’s claim that the song exemplifies their recent short-lived relationship. Prior to the June issue of Rolling Stone, the 34-year-old Meyer claims Swift had him ‘humiliated’ when she released the song — a comment that Taylor had no idea about up until this day. And also, the 22-year-old singer have made claims to avoid any issues and public comments made by Meyer with regards to their relationship altogether, a thing that Taylor is very adamant to keep things as it is.
“I know it wasn’t good, so I don’t want to know,” she told the magazine. “I put a high priority on staying happy, and I know what I can’t handle.
Furthermore, Taylor told the November issue of Glamour that she does stays positive in spite the bad things that happened in her life and career.
“It’s not that I’m this egomaniac and I don’t want to hear anything negative, because I do keep myself in check. But I’ve never developed that thick a skin. Instead of talking about past relationships, which Taylor don’t regularly do, she just let the songs do their talking. For instance, her recent single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is one such thing that caught the attention of ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers who has come to deny the assumption that the song is indeed all about him — although he is famously quoted for dumping Taylor over the phone.
“I don’t talk about my personal life in great detail,” she said. “I write about it in my songs, and I feel like you can share enough about your life in your music to let people know what you’re going through.”
Moreover, Taylor Swift added a justification on the way she renders her songs. In the November issue of Maire Claire UK, she said:
