The Pinoy Tech Guide To the Apple iPad & Today’s Other Tablet Computers, Part II

Welcome once again to Pinoy Tech! In our previous discussion, we examined one definition of the Tablet Computer or Tablet PC (or, simply, Tablet), and this definition clearly differentiated the tablet from a cell phone and a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), which led to our examination of the history of tablets, wherein we discovered that, oddly enough, the historical roots of tablets were the PDAs themselves. And, speaking of coincidences, the first famous PDA was the Newton Message Pad, which was made by none other than Apple, the manufacturer of today’s iPad! Wow! What a coincidence, huh? Leave it to Steven Paul “Steve” Jobs (the long-time, but now-resigned CEO at Apple),  Jonathan Ive, and the other geniuses atApple; they sure do know how to “manufacturer” coincidences, as they seem to have the incredible knack of “positioning” themselves to always create the very “firsts” in computer history. So what’s next, Steve Jobs? The iWatch, or iPeniCalc, oriWhatever? Ha-ha-ha! Anyway, for today’s installment/issue, we promised to talk in detail about the various forms or types of tablet computers, so let’s start the ball rolling:
