The UFC has their first ever women’s champion in Rounda Rousey. The fomer Olympian will headline UFC 157 in Anaheim on Feb. 23 in her Octagon debut.
UFC president Dana White announced on Thursday that Rousey will face former Strikeforce and Invicta contender Liz Carmouche in the main event of the upcoming card in 2013.
“In the UFC, Feb. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. (Ronda Rousey) will be fighting Liz Carmouche, and she is the main event,” said White.
Rousey signed with the UFC a few weeks ago, making her the first ever female fighter under contract with the promotion. Now she not only makes her UFC debut, but she headlines a pay-per-view card for her first fight in the Octagon.
