The 40th American Music Awards aired live on Sunday, November 18 from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
The show started its heat as Usher opened the awards night a performance on his hit song Numb. The show was hosted by Ryan Seacrest who gave the first awards to Justin Bieber for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist. He was nominated alongside Flo Rida, Pitbull, and Usher, and his win marked his fifth American Music Award victory. Way to go Bieber! Were very sure your die-hard fans are making their new holiday!
This is the sixth year in a row wherein fans choose their favorite nominees through the online voting mechanism at www.AMA.ABC.com.
Guess who’d performed in the night’s event? Performers during the event displayed their own signature styles and crowd-pleasing stage antics: Christina Aguilera, Linkin Park, Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen. Chris Brown, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, No Doubt, Pitbull, Pink, Taylor Swift, The Wanted, Carrie Underwood and Stevie Wonder made their own marks in the AMA stage to keep the night alive and kicking.
Presenters included Randy Jackson, Stacy Keibler, Ne-Yo, Cyndi Lauper, Karmin, Kerry Washington, Heidi Klum, Will.i.am and the Backstreet Boys.
