Wii U Sells 400, 000 during its first week

A week is more than enough for Nintendo’s Wii U console to be sold out of retail. The Japanese gaming giant revealed that 400, 00 Wii U consoles were sold during its first week on sale. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime revealed the figure during his interview with CNET, also mentioning that 300, 000 units were sold in the same week.
“Wii U is essentially sold out of retail and we are doing our best to continually replenish stock,” Fils-Aime said. “Retailers are also doing their best to get the product to store shelves. But as soon as product hits retail, they’re selling out immediately.”
