Keira for Anna Karenina!
We’re hungry and excited to get an eye on Anna Karenina not only that it will be based on the famous book but because we can’t wait how Keira Knightley will come to as she wears those iconic Victorian dresses!
The dresses worn by the Anna Karenina star are all designed and furnished by Oscar nominee Jacqueline Durran, and accordingly, the elaborate and intricate designs and highly structured uniforms require a lot of efforts and not to mention blood, sweat and tears just to get a satisfactory finish. Durran told People:
“Period films are absolutely a challenge because you never have enough time. You’re always racing to try and catch up. It’s very hard work, and very last-minute, but with them, it’s a pleasure,” Durran says. “It’s just much easier to work with people you like and know.”
However, as Durran added that working with Knightley and director Joe Wright, both of whom she had already collaborated in Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, made the work more easier in its progression. The acclaimed designer also added that it is easier to work with Knightley because she looks just stunning and gorgeous with all of Durran’s works. Knightley, who was dressed by Durran in a dress that’s “1870s silhouette meets 1950s couture,” will come to theaters this Friday.
